With the downturn in the economy and the shedding of thousands of jobs, more people are turning to the net to make money. Watching and sharing video is a fun option.

While they may not be full-time jobs in the traditional sense of working for an employer, people who enjoy posting, watching, and sharing video may be pleased to know that they can do so while making a little money on the side.

This article takes a brief look at six sites on the net that pay people to post, watch, and share video.

Google Adsense Video Units

The popular search engine Google offers people the chance to make money simply by placing an advertising video in their blog or website. Through Google Adsense, people can embed what Google calls video units into their blog or website to display YouTube partner advertising.

To set this up, the person must register for an account on YouTube. This is because they are taken directly to the YouTube website in order to customize and grab the code for the advertising video. The close relationship between Google and YouTube isn’t much of a surprise since, after all, Google owns the video sharing site.

Voxant Newsroom

Bloggers and webmasters who do not have a Voxant Newsroom video in their blog or website are missing out on a potential revenue stream as well as a traffic generator. Simply customize Voxant Newsroom video to desired news channels, embed the video into a blog or website, and get paid when people click and watch a news story.

MetaCafe.com

On the more professional side, people can make money at Metacafe for their original short-form video. While members can make money on MetaCafe through their Producer Rewards program, they cannot submit personal videos, news stories, or webcam video.

Blip.tv

Like MetaCafe, Blip.tv is more of a professional paid video sharing website. Blip.tv focuses on shows or episodes rather than home video. Video directors and video producers may especially benefit from the opt-in 50/50 revenue share offered by Blip.tv.

Flixya.com

The only paid video sharing website on the net that pays 100 percent of revenue generated from advertising, Flixya also features a social networking aspect to its website. In addition to posting and sharing video, members can also make money posting pictures and a blog. In order make money on Flixya, members must register with Google in their Adsense advertising program.

Revver.com

Revver is one of the most popular paid video sharing websites on the net. Revver attaches advertising to a posted video and members share in the collective revenue generated by this form of advertising. Revenue is split 50/50 with video creators.

Paid video sharing websites may not necessarily bring in the big money, but in today's world of layoffs and economic decline they're a fun way to make enough money to pay off a bill or two.
